Production Activities for The Seventh Day: Revelations from the Lost Pages of History

In 1986 James Arrabito conceived the idea of a television documentary tracing the history of the Sabbath. Until his untimely death in 1990 he researched and traveled, gathering a large library of film and video footage and thousands of still photographs from sites in over 38 countries where the Sabbath was observed.

Others joined the search for historical evidence of Sabbath observance. In that process an exceptional collection of books and articles has been acquired.

Dr. Gerard Damsteegt, professor of Church History at Andrews University, has evaluated the references and resources for historical accuracy. He is using this research for classes in Sabbath History, and plans to produce a CD-ROM on the Sabbath.

In 1999 Jeff Wood our Producer/Director and his brother Pastor Jim Wood Associate producer and writer joined our production crew.

The Seventh Day set

Over 50 expert witnesses were interviewed from around the world. These experts include scholars, theologians and historians from several different religious persuasions.

The narrator for the series is Hal Holbrook. He is known for his role in "Mark Twain", "Capricorn One" and other films. Mr. Holbrook was selected as narrator for this series not only for his expertise in narrating but also because of good name recognition which is vital for exposure on the major networks such as the History Channel and Discovery Channel. In April of 2007 the series will have it's first airing on The Hope Channel.

In June of 2005 the complete series was completed in both English and Spanish languages. Several other languages are currently being worked on. To date, over 20,000 copies have been sold and circulated around the world through Pacific Press and sold in ABC's around the country. In addition over 350 public libraries around the country have placed this series on their shelves. We have also placed over 160 sets in University libraries as well with plans for an additional 300 sets to mailed out soon.
